Dior by Avedon
Richard Avedon’s photography has immortalised the House of Dior’s creations for over 30 years and this special relationship between design house and photographer has been captured in a collection of iconic photographs in the book Dior by Avedon.
We were approached by Italian publishing house Rizzoli to produce an iconic coffee table book showcasing and replicating Avedon’s photography and fashion drawings.
Our PureColourHD team worked closely with the publishers’ creative agency to make sure that the colour quality and reproduction was at its finest. With our wealth of knowledge on papers and materials we chose specialist papers including an uncoated grey Takeo from Japan and incorporated coated and uncoated papers to highlight the photography and written content. Printed on our Heidelberg XL-106 presses with the special Dior blue colour and a spot gloss varnish and a beautiful french fold, satin cover material, and for the finishing touch we enclosed it in a silk slip case.
Our PureColourHD team improved the colour reproductions and supported Rizzoli on press to get an outstanding result. Close collaboration and advice given to the customer on production methods ensured a result that they were delighted with.
