Gagosian – Jean-Michel Basquiat: Made On Market Street

We worked with Gagosian gallery to produce a luxury art book called ‘Made On Market Street’ containing works by Jean-Michel Basquiat.  

The book commemorates the exhibition “Jean-Michel Basquiat: Made on Market Street” at Gagosian, Beverly Hills, focusing on the artist’s works created in Los Angeles. Curated by Fred Hoffman and Larry Gagosian, the exhibition showcased around thirty pieces, including significant paintings from Basquiat’s time in Southern California between 1982 and 1984.  

The publication includes reproductions of exhibited works, archival material, such as installation images and exhibition reviews, and previously unreleased photographs of Basquiat in his studio. It also features a conversation with key figures in Basquiat’s life and an essay by Hoffman discussing the symbolism and innovation in Basquiat’s Los Angeles works. 

We produced a 172 page hardcover book complete with a dust jacket. The cover was foiled with a metallic silver and the inner pages were interspersed with vibrant coloured pages that add a distinct and bold finish to this luxury art piece.
